How comparison works

The breed comparison tool pulls data from our database of 101 dog breeds. Weight ranges, calorie estimates, and health predispositions come from AKC breed standards and NRC 2006 nutrition formulas. Trait ratings (activity, grooming, shedding, kid-friendliness) are based on breed standards and veterinary consensus.
